Welcome To
East Coast Weather Radar
"NexRad" Doppler Radar
This film loop is the last 50 radar scans taken from a composite
of the
"NexRad" [NEXt generation RADar] doppler radar stations along the east coast of
the United States operated by the
National Atmospheric and Oceanic Administration (NOAA). It shows low altitude
reflectivity, which is optimized to display precipitation. The radar data is
updated every 10 minutes, depending on the
amount of precipitation falling in the radar coverage area. If there is
little precipitation, extensive noise from ground clutter is often seen in
the vicinity of the various radar sites.
This page will automatically reload every 5 minutes with the most current
radar data.
