Welcome to The NerdWorld Report Click Here to read the most recent issue The NerdWorld Report is a "webzine" with information, commentary, rants, raves, and other forms of expression that our therapists would approve of, if we had the sense to seek professional help. You can expect to see insightful political commentary, breaking news of new technologies, and reasoned analysis of various issues of the day in other web magazines. Unfortunately, in this web magazine, all you get is sophomoric rants, raves, and absurdly broad over-generalizations about subjects the authors have studied very little. The NerdWorld Report welcomes contributions (but doesn't actually expect to get any) from our readers. Also, comments are encouraged and will be posted in the "Letters" section after we delete the four-letter words.
In this issue: I Was Wrong About Iraq (and so were you) This is an essay discussing the many assumptions about the Iraqi war, and exploring how they've come to be proven, disproven, or still remain unknown. How did your predictions about the war turn out? How well do you fare against the "experts"? Read the essay and make your decision.
Previous Issues: Nattering Nabobs of Negativity Everybody says the world is getting worse, but the objective data proves exactly the opposite. A short essay which explains why optimism and pride in humanity is really the correct paradigm.
Satire on why North Korean Strongman Kim Il Jung is such a putz. It's all over love! (With apologies to Jackie Gleason!)
Why is the left so convinced the world is going bad? Iraq is not a disaster. A reprinted editorial from the Wall Street Journal.
Science Fiction "grandmaster" author Robert A. Heinlein in a radio essay from the 1950s which praises the innate goodness of the human spirit.
What the Civil War can teach us about American politics in general, and the politics of war in particular. Lincoln was not popular!
A long essay which discusses all the errors made by pundits and prognosticators (both professional and amateur) and how they've faced being proven wrong. |
